Transfer Credit in Oregon
Oregon’s two-year community colleges and four-year institutions work closely together to enable students to transfer successfully from one type of institution to another. In fact, Oregon has two unique degrees to assist students in transferring between community colleges and universities: The Associate of Arts Oregon Transfer (AAOT) and the Associate of Science/Oregon Transfer Degree in Business (AS/OT-Bus).
These degrees complete the general education requirements and allow students to be admitted as third-year students to any Oregon public university and many private colleges and universities in Oregon or other states. The admission requirements and number of courses that transfer can vary by institution, so it is best to research the requirements of your intended 4-year university well in advance, and meet with your community college advisor to ensure that you are well positioned to continue toward your goal.
