Students are able to explore a variety of academic programs in a small classroom setting as well as gain hands-on experience through local internships and service opportunities. NCU competes with 10 athletic teams in the National Associate of Intercollegiate Athletics, Cascade Collegiate Conference. Students participate in campus leadership, on-campus work study, ministry opportunities and renowned music programs. NCU is located in Eugene, Oregon two hours south of Portland in the beautiful Willamette Valley. The urban campus is blocks from downtown Eugene and across the street from the University of Oregon.

School curriculum summary

We run on semesters with our fall semester starting the end of August and our spring semester starting in January. Our school year ends early May. Limited online courses available in the summer. We offer three different programs: Traditional Undergraduate, Adult Degree and Graduate. Our Traditional Daytime Program runs late August through early May, it is segmented into two semesters. Our average class size is 15 with a student to faculty ratio is 9:1.
All of our classes are taught by highly qualified professors, we do not have graduate students or teacher assistants instructing courses.

Northwest Christian University has three housing options for students: Burke-Griffeth Residence Hall, the Mom Richart Apartments and the Hilyard Apartments.Both traditional dormitory and apartment style housing options provide an encouraging, educational environment for students located conveniently near classrooms, library, and athletics facilities.   • All students who have completed fewer than 89 credits and who are under 21 year of age shall live on campus. For a complete overview of NCU’s residency requirements, please consult the NCU Student Handbook.
A $12,000 International Student Scholarship is available plus select opportunities for additional talent awards in the form of athletic or music scholarships. Contact the Admissions Office for more details.
